Executive Director Maureen DeFelice and traumatic brain injury survivor Dan Harper share how the Alamo Head Injury Association supports individuals and families navigating life after TBI. Dan’s life changed in a devastating 2016 car accident, leaving him with a brain injury that wasn’t immediately recognized—a “hidden” disability that took his memory and forced him to relearn basics like eating, walking, and talking. He says finding his way back to a new normal was possible because of the community, guidance, and resources he received through the Alamo Head Injury Association.
