A Texas school district has less than $500 in the bank

A South Texas school district is in full-blown financial crisis — and the numbers are shocking. Crystal City ISD has less than $500 in its bank account, and the interim superintendent said it to families' faces at a town hall Tuesday night after announcing the layoffs of 72 employees, nearly a quarter of the entire staff.
