Towing Company Owner Pleads Guilty to Bribing Bexar County's Top Law Enforcement Officer
A towing company owner tried to buy his way into a big Bexar County contract — and now he's paying the price. 78-year-old Muhammad Chowdhury, co-owner of Mission Record Service, pleaded guilty to offering Sheriff Javier Salazar a bribe worth more than $250,000 to bypass the bidding process and land a county towing deal. A second suspect, convenience store owner Anwar Tahir — previously featured on KSAT 12 — had already entered a guilty plea back in March. KSAT's Katrina Weber has the full story, including Sheriff Salazar's reaction the day he had to call the FBI, and what investigators say this means for public corruption in the Western District of Texas. Both men now face up to five years in federal prison. #BexarCounty #TexasNews #PublicCorruption #SheriffSalazar #CrimeNews
