Abbott appeals order to release Musk records

Days before the Nov. 3 election, a Travis County judge ordered Gov. Greg Abbott to stop blocking his Democratic opponent, State Rep. Gina Hinojosa, from inspecting his private communications with Elon Musk. Abbott's office immediately appealed, calling the lawsuit a "baseless stunt." An earlier records request turned up 1,374 pages, and nearly all of them were blacked out. The suit also claims Abbott argued some of the messages were "intimate and embarrassing." Hinojosa's filing lays out a deep financial relationship between the two men: state grants to SpaceX, billions in tax breaks and millions in donations. Follow KSAT 12 for the latest election coverage.
