Northside parents frustrated by bus delays

Brianne Armstrong, a Northside ISD parent says ongoing school bus delays and missed pickups are disrupting her son’s education and leading to attendance warnings, highlighting transportation challenges the district says are tied to traffic and staffing shortages. The district confirms delays affect the Far West side, Alamo Ranch and routes along Loop 1604. Northside ISD said it is short 42 bus drivers and 17 bus attendants. There are other frustrations over the bus situation, including an app that she says is not often updated and is unreliable. Armstrong said her next step is to contact the school board and her elected representative as she continues pushing for a solution. KSAT's Patty Santos spoke with Armstrong, who says she was told back in late September that the district was working on it. The delays haven't stopped, and now she's weighing whether to pull her son out of his magnet school entirely.
