Prepare for another hot weekend, while next week continues to look promising

It’s still not a ‘slam dunk’, but a front is possible next week

TODAY

The last few days have brought evening downpours with decent rainfall for some. The airport last night picked up over a tenth of an inch. While a few more brief downpours may develop today, odds of seeing rain go down today to 10%. The majority of us will just see partly cloudy skies and hot conditions.

WEEKEND UPDATE

Friday and Saturday are forecast to be rain-free. It’ll stay hot, too. Expect highs in the mid to upper-90s. Our heat high shifts a bit on Sunday, opening the door for a few more stray downpours.

CHANGES AHEAD?

Next week holds promise for changes, but unfortunately, we still can’t nail down specifics. Why? Well, models are notoriously bad in these situations and there are many moving parts. One thing we do know is that Pacific moisture will likely stream into the area by midweek. This could combine with a cold front Tuesday into Wednesday, although this is still not a guarantee. Should that happen, rain chances would rise and temps could potentially fall by late week. More updates to come!
