SAN ANTONIO – Fiesta is less than a month away, but on Thursday afternoon Fiesta Oyster Bake unveiled its 2017 poster.
This year’s Fiesta Oyster Bake poster was created by Patti Schermerhorn, a graduate of St. Mary’s University.
Schermerhorn said it took her nearly four weeks to complete the project and believes it captures the true spirit of San Antonio.
"We went with something classic," Schermerhorn said. "We went with St. Lewis Hall, which is the forefront of the school when you pull up. And we did Shucky and lots of casacrones and the carnival, and kind of really stuck with the whole heartbeat of Fiesta."
Fiesta Oyster Bake will kick off April 21 and go through April 22. It will mark the event’s 101st anniversary.
The event’s mission is to raise money for student scholarships.
