Homemade Cheeto costume makes it to top three

A San Antonio native is a finalist in the “Live with Kelly and Ryan” Homemade Halloween Costume Contest.

Meredith Hayden is one of three finalists in the “handmade” category. She made a Spicy Hot Cheeto costume out of chicken wire, felt, wine, red and orange spray paint and about 15 cans of foam insulation.

Her mom, Anne Hayden, who is the Communication Manager for San Antonio Water System, says Meredith recently moved to Houston for a job and is planning a wedding next year so “the 5k Amazon gift card (prize) would be well spent.”

Hayden has some stiff competition. The other finalists include Mr. and Mrs. Pacman costume and a “Night Walker” costume.

Texas is also represented among the finalists in the Boxtume category. Those are costumes made out of cardboard boxes. Two women from Cat Spring created Chanel purses from boxes, duct tape, and quilted imitation leather.

The winner will be chosen by social media votes. You can vote for your favorite by clicking on this link.
