General Position Description:
Daily production of KSAT12's Variety/Talk Show. You will book and research interview topics and fresh ideas for a variety/talk show format. You will be responsible for oversight of program content, and you'll assist in writing, editing, promoting program, and participating in community outreach for program. You will appear as an on-air talent during the daily variety show.
Responsibilities:
Generates fresh ideas and meets with production staff and hosts to develop program segments.
Works with KSAT12 Sales Department to secure and deliver quality/entertaining segments which are sponsored.
Oversees a staff of producers, video journalists, show hosts and interns.
Oversees program's web/social presence; develops new audience outreach models.
Schedules guests for live, daily variety/talk show.
Records and edits video for pre-produced segments.
Writes and edits copy for on-air, web site, and promotional use.
Works with other producers and interns to respond to listener requests and emails.
Develops long-term coverage ideas for the show, including special segments, sales initiatives, fun and entertaining segment ideas, fresh/compelling content.
Manages archives for "best of" show clips for future episodes.
Appear as an "on-camera" talent to co-host the program as needed.
Acts as a contributor on-air, during the daily talk show.
Qualifications:
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Two or more years experience producing a daily, live program on TV or radio.
Strong ability to write and edit copy and edit video.
Ability to work under very tight deadlines, and face intense pressure to incorporate fresh elements into a daily talk show.
Effective internal and external communication skills.
Understand KSAT12's presence in the community and the core values associated with our brand.
