Man accused of driving getaway car in Marshalls parking lot robbery

Rene Camarillo, 25, charged with aggravated robbery

SAN ANTONIO – A 25-year-old man is accused of driving the getaway car in a parking lot robbery that happened in broad daylight outside Marshalls.

San Antonio police said another suspect in the case led them to Rene Camarillo, telling them that they lived in the same apartment complex.

An arrest affidavit stated that the robbery happened in a Marshalls department store parking lot on the afternoon of April 26.

The victim told police he was putting items into the toolbox of his pickup when another vehicle rolled up and the passenger pointed a shotgun at him, demanding his valuables, the affidavit stated.

Police tracked down that other suspect, believed to be the passenger, earlier this month.

They said he gave them information leading them to Camarillo, the affidavit stated.

Police said during questioning, Camarillo admitted to driving the getaway car and knowing that the other suspect was pulling off the robbery, the affidavit stated.

Camarillo was arrested Thursday on a charge of aggravated robbery.
