Man fatally shot by girlfriend in NE Bexar County identified

Victim identified as Garry Bean, 64

A man who was fatally shot by a woman believed to be his girlfriend has been identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office.

Garry Bean, 64, was shot and killed around 1:30 a.m. Friday at a home in the 9500 block of Bending Crest in northeast Bexar County.

Sheriff's deputies said Bean and his girlfriend were arguing when she opened fire and shot him in the chest inside the home.

Bean was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center and pronounced dead a short time later.

Bean's girlfriend was identified as Minerva Alcorta. She was charged with murder in connection with Bean's death.

Police have not said what led to the argument before the shooting.
