Former Seguin teacher accused of relationship with student

Shannon Spradlin arrested Sunday, resigned from district

Shannon Spradlin, 31, was charged for having an improper relationship with a 17-year-old student.

A former Seguin High School teacher was arrested Sunday on charges she had an improper relationship with a 17-year-old student.

The Seguin Independent School District said Shannon Spradlin, who turned 31-years-old Wednesday, was placed on administrative leave two weeks ago when the allegations first surfaced. Spradlin resigned a short time after that.

The district's website reported Spradlin had been employed with Seguin ISD since the 2006-07 school year as a teachers aide and inclusion teacher.

It said she passed a criminal history background check when she was hired.
