High-ranking member of Texas-Mexican Mafia arrested in Seguin

Police arrested a high-ranking member of the Texas-Mexican Mafia Monday in Seguin.

According to officials, police were called to the 700 block of Roberts Street after reports that shots were fired in the area. When police arrived, Jessie Salazar III was attempting to leave the scene in a vehicle, but was caught.

Detectives later searched his home on Allende Street, where they seized multiple computers, laptops, electronic storage devices, 29 grams of methamphetamine and more than $10,000 in cash.

Jessie Salazar III's wife, Kathy Salazar, was also arrested at the residence.

Kathy Salazar is charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.

Jessie Salazar III is charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit a felony, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, resisting arrest, deadly conduct for discharging a firearm, retaliation for threatening a police officer, and manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.

Police believe that more gang-related arrests are possible.

No other information was immediately released.
