Final autopsy report released in Leanne Bearden's death

Bearden autopsy confirms investigation findings, case now officially closed

According to a statement from the City of Garden Ridge, the final autopsy report regarding Leanne Hect Bearden's death was released Thursday.

The medical examiner report finds the cause of death to be asphyxia by hanging while the manner of death opinion was suicide.

The report is consistent with investigation findings and as a result the case was officially closed.

Bearden, 33, went missing Jan. 17 in Garden Ridge when she went for a walk and never returned.

Her body was found Feb. 13 in a wooded area about two blocks from her where she was last seen.
