Convicted sex offender charged with fondling girl

Rodolfo Castillo, 42, charged with continuous sexual abuse of child

SAN ANTONIO – A convicted sex offender is accused of striking again and molesting a 9-year-old girl.

Rodolfo Castillo, 42, was arrested Sunday after both he and the alleged victim spoke with a detective from the San Antonio Police Department, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

The affidavit stated that the girl told detectives that Castillo had been having sex with her and fondling her since October 2013, with the most recent incident happening last Friday.

The girl said that Castillo told her that if she reported him, it would end up being her word against his, the affidavit stated.

She also told police that Castillo would often play with her and her friends and even dress up, the affidavit stated.

Records show Castillo is a convicted sex offender who must register annually with the state's sex offender registry.

According to the registry, he was sentenced to 18 years in prison in 1990 for the sexual assault of an 18-year-old woman.

Police said during his interview with detectives Sunday about the recent case, Castillo admitted to touching the 9-year-old's body through a bathing suit while they both were in a swimming pool, the affidavit stated.

Castillo has been charged with the continuous sexual abuse of a child in connection with this recent arrest.
