Man arrested in robbery of Pizza Patron near downtown San Antonio

Jesus Moreno, 29, accused of using gun, demand note

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police have arrested a man in connection with the robbery of a Pizza Patron restaurant just south of downtown.

Jesus Moreno, 29, was taken into custody Monday, two weeks to the day after the robbery.

Police said they received a report about the robbery from employees of the Pizza Patron in the 3100 block of Nogalitos Street on June 9.

An arrest warrant affidavit stated that a man walked into the business with a gun in his waistband and presented a note to a cashier saying, "Empty the register, I have a gun."

Employees told police after they complied with the demand, the man ran from the business.

The affidavit stated that patrol officers later developed leads on a suspect and put his photo into a lineup which they showed to the restaurant employees.

A cashier identified Moreno in that photo lineup as the robber, saying that she recognized him by his eyes, the affidavit stated. Moreno is charged with aggravated robbery.
