BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – Deputies have identified a body found Monday morning in a cornfield in Bexar County.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office said it was contacted at 9:30 a.m. Monday about a decomposed body found in the 11600 block of Old Corpus Christi Road and 181st South in a cornfield.

Deputies identified the body Tuesday as 19-year-old Steven Rendon. Investigators on Wendesday announced that Rendon died of gunshot wounds to his neck.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office said it is investigating this case as a homicide.
