SA Council Dist. 2 runoff is Tuesday

Toney, Warrick face off for second time

SAN ANTONIO – Five weeks after they first faced each other on a ballot, Keith Toney and Alan Warrick go head-to-head at the polls Tuesday.

Toney was appointed to the post in August. He replaced then council member Ivy Taylor who had been appointed mayor. She filled the spot left vacant by Julian Castro when he took the job of Housing and Urban Development secretary.

Toney and Warrick were in a field of five candidates vying for the seat. Warrick led the November polling results with 3,155 votes to Toney's 3,074 votes.

Norris Tyrone Darden, Ntando McIntosh and Elmo Aycock were also on the ballot.

The winner of the Dec. 9 runoff will hold the seat until the May election.
