SAN ANTONIO – A group of motorcyclists is coming together to honor a fallen rider and promote motorcycle safety.
Justin Bateman was killed last weekend after losing control of his bike on Wurzbach Parkway.
The nonprofit group Fallen Riders is planning a memorial ride for Bateman this weekend to honor his life and promote rider safety.
"We as a group get together and organize memorial rides, help family any way we can --medical, funeral expenses," said Lenin Toledo, with Fallen Riders.
The group also aims to promote road safety for motorcycle and vehicle drivers.
"A vehicle is considered a weapon compared to us. We don't have safety, air bags. We don't have four wheels, we just have two wheels to break," motorcyclist Ana Lopez said.
Fallen Riders is relatively new, having been organized about six months ago.
The memorial ride for Bateman will be held Sunday. People will gather at noon at Dave and Buster's off Loop 410 and Frederickburg Road. The ride starts at 1 p.m.
