Police said the 20-year-old victim was being held at a motel in the 3500 block of Southwest Military Drive.

Investigators said, she was forced into prostitution and made to perform sex acts.

Victela is charged with trafficking of a person, police said. Authorities also found him in possession of two handguns.

Ramirez is also charged with trafficking of a person and is facing a murder charge dating back to 2001.

"They identified him and it turned out that he had a parole violation warrant for murder," said SAPD Officer Douglas Greene.

Greene said their focus now is to provide the victim with the help she needs to recover.

"We provide resources for any kind of human trafficking victim that we come across," Greene said. "We have tons of resources here in San Antonio so we are making sure that she gets the proper help that she needs."
