Kerr County man injured in possible double murder-suicide dies

Mark Cormier, 53, died Tuesday night at SAMMC

SAN ANTONIO – The third person involved in a fatal shooting in Kerr County last week has died.

The Kerr County Sheriff's Office said Mark Cormier, 53, died Tuesday night at San Antonio Military Medical Center.

Investigators believe he was part of a double murder-suicide that left his adopted son, Jeremiah, and wife, Candace, dead.

The shooting happened at a home in the 2500 block of Goat Creek Road at Shalako Estates last Friday.

Sheriff Rusty Hierholzer said last week that Mark Cormier managed to get to a neighbor's home around 6:30 a.m. The neighbor alerted the Sheriff's Office.

Mark Cormier was airlifted to SAMMC in critical condition after the shooting.
