Proposal to designate portion of Woodlawn Avenue as memorial to Archbishop Patrick Flores approved

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio City Council has approved a proposal to designate a portion of Woodlawn Avenue as a memorial to the late Archbishop Patrick Flores.

The memorial designation will cover Woodlawn Avenue from Zarzamora Street to Bandera Road and doesn't involve any name change.

Flores died of pneumonia and congestive heart failure in January at the age of 87.

He was the fourth archbishop to lead the Archdiocese of San Antonio and held his post for more than two decades.
