Monetary donations being accepted for fire victims, families

Donations can be made to Burned Out Survivors' Fund, 100 Club of San Antonio


SAN ANTONIO – The Burned Out Survivors' Fund, a non-profit charitable organization that assists fire victims and their families, will accept monetary donations for the family of firefighter Scott Deem, who died in Thursday night's fire at a Northwest Side shopping center.

The BOS Fund will also assist families of injured firefighters Brad Phipps and Robert Vasquez.

People wishing to make a tax-deductible donation to either an individual family or all families can mail their contributions to:

Electronic contributions are also accepted online on the BOS website.

All donations will be given directly to the families.

All monetary donations are tax deductible, and donors will be given a receipt.

Burned Out Survivors' Fund is registered with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Donations can also be made online to the 100 Club of San Antonio, a nonprofit that provides financial assistance for the families of police officers and firefighters. The 100 Club also helps with higher education needs of victims' children.

Club president Richard Miller said donations made to the 100 Club will fund the 100 Club Survivors Fund.
