Seguin fire crews battle 3-alarm blaze in old grain building

SEGUIN, Texas – An old grain building in Seguin went up in flames Wednesday night.

The three-alarm fire happened just after 7 p.m. on West New Braunfels Avenue. When firefighters arrived, the building was fully engulfed.

The building started to collapse and firefighters had to take a defensive approach. The blaze caused a small grass fire.

No one was inside the building, which was built sometime in the 1950s.

Firefighters said fans on the side of the building, which are heat-activated, caused the fire to spread quickly.
