11 'illegal aliens' found at west side stash house, 2 facing smuggling charges

Raid unrelated to human trafficking case that killed 9, ICE says

SAN ANTONIO – Two people are facing smuggling charges after federal authorities raided a stash house on the far west side Sunday afternoon.

Eleven people suspected of entering the country illegally were taken into custody after an investigation headed by the Department of Homeland Security led authorities to a home on West Haven Place just North of Highway 90.

Aside from the 11 "illegal aliens," a spokesperson for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said two people were arrested and face smuggling charges.

Authorities said the incident is not related to a human trafficking case that killed nine people on Sunday.
