Adoption interest for homeless, fat cat soars after photos go viral

MORTON GROVE, Illinois – A fat cat named Bruno is taking the internet by storm.

An Illinois-based animal rescue group posted photos of Bruno the cat on Thursday and the photos have been shared more than 23,000 times since. 

Bruno, according to the Wright Way Rescue, is a 25-pound cat that loves to sit on his hind legs. 

Bruno is overweight but otherwise healthy, according to a Facebook post. The rescue said Bruno is also rather particular about the way he eats and drinks. Bruno will only drink water in a bowl in a separate room from his food and enjoys being petted while he eats, the post states.

People from across the globe have expressed interest in adopting the high-maintenance cat. The rescue is reviewing the many applications that have been submitted.
