SAN ANTONIO – Detectives with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office arrested a 24-year-old man Monday who they said was found inside his car with a minor girl in the parking lot of a local strip club.

Authorities said they were conducting a prostitution sting Sept. 13 at the MGM Cabaret in Von Ormy, where Eric Taylor and the girl, 16, were found together.

The girl told deputies at the scene she had just met Eric Taylor and that they were "club hopping."

The victim was taken to an emergency shelter, where detectives said she sneaked out. Her parents later reported her as a runaway to Child Protective Services.

A detective said in the affidavit the girl and Taylor were both found at his apartment Thursday and taken in for questioning. The detective said Taylor admitted he had picked up the girl at North Star Mall and took her to his apartment.

Taylor said he and the girl were in a sexual relationship and she had been staying with him for several days, according to the affidavit.

Taylor is now being charged with sexual assault of a child, a second-degree felony. His bail was set at $50,000.

A spokesman with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office said it is important for parents to always know where their children are at all times.

"Communication is key and maintaining that open line of communication with your children is essential," the BCSO spokesman said.
