SAPD chief to provide information on shooting involving police officer west of downtown KSAT will livestream the news conference in this story
SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Police Department Chief Jesse Salame will provide information on a Friday night shooting involving an officer.
The shooting was reported around 9 p.m. in the 500 block of Ruiz Street, near North Frio Street.
Salame will speak to media near the scene, police said, but an exact time is unclear.

Witnesses and people in the area told KSAT that the man who was shot Friday night had stabbed a woman earlier this week.
The woman who was injured in the earlier stabbing spoke to KSAT, saying the man told officers to “put your guns down or you’re going to kill me.”
Multiple people told KSAT the man had a gun when officers arrived. His condition is unclear.
