Original Story:

A trail of blood led San Antonio police to a man fatally shot Monday on the city's East Side.

Police spokeswoman Sgt. Michelle Ramos said when officers arrived around 6 a.m. in the 100 block of Sample Street, they found the man in his 30s dead near a house known for criminal activity.

"A neighbor woke up and found blood on the roadway," Ramos said.

The victim is believed to have been shot inside a home before he got of a window and collapsed.

No arrests have been made and a motive for the shooting hasn't been released.

The shooting follows a violent weekend in San Antonio, with at least eight shootings reported over the holiday weekend.

"At this time, we don't know what's created the increase of these shootings," Ramos said.
