Police say a pick-up truck she was riding in crashed over an island and hit a tree at the Walmart on Pecan Valley, then went down an embankment and across E. Southcross before hitting a pole.

Investigators say Gomez appeared to be attempting to get out of the truck, but was run over.

EMS transported her to San Antonio Military Medical Center where staff pronounced her dead.

Police took the woman driving that truck in for DWI testing.

SAPD continues to investigate the deadly crash.
