SAN ANTONIO – A father is desperately searching for answers after his son was shot dead outside of their West Side home.
Jaen Carlo Bueno Pecina, 27, will never get the chance to see his five young children grow up. Police said someone seen driving away in a dark-colored SUV shot and killed him outside of his Cortez Street home around 9:30 p.m. Friday.
"He didn't have enemies. He never drank or anything. He was very dedicated to his work. I’m not saying this because I’m his father, it’s because it’s true" said Raul Pecina, Bueno Pecina’s father.
Pecina said his son was a very hard worker and had just come home in his work truck and came to open up the gate so that he could pull the truck in before he was shot dead in his driveway.
Close family and friends said right before he was killed, Bueno Pecina was on the phone with his girlfriend who heard parts of a brief argument before the shooting. By the time she showed up, it was too late.
A grieving family is now left wondering why their loved one, who they said tried so hard to stay away from crime, ended up falling victim to it.
"I ask the public to help me find the person who is guilty of this very violent act. I didn't see a reason,” Pecina said.
