Local birthing coach gives survival tips to expecting dads

Brian 'The Birth Guy' releases survival guide for new dads

SAN ANTONIO – At the age of 19, Brian Salmon, also known as "The Birth Guy," coached his first birth for a friend.

Since then, he's been hooked on helping families have a better birthing experience and has helped more than 19,000 expecting families.

Now, he's making sure new dads survive the process.

"We see things changing and our conversations change," Salmon said. "We don't really know how to adapt to it."

His new book "The Birth Guy's Go-To Guide For New Dads" is selling all over the world.

The book is full of advice and mostly tips on how to support your partner before the baby arrives, during labor and after.

All of this is based on Salmon's popular class called Rocking Dads taught here in San Antonio and online.

The classes and book are a way to empower men and speak to dads from their point of view.

"I hope it helps a lot of families," Salmon said.

"The Birth Guy's Go-To Guide For New Dads" is available wherever books are sold as well as online.
