Man shot after getting caught in middle of possible racing or road rage incident, SAPD says

Victim suffers gunshot wound while sitting in his SUV in 2400 block of Nacogdoches Road

SAN ANTONIO – A 30-year-old man was shot after he found himself in the middle of two vehicles that were racing or involved in a road rage incident Wednesday night on the city’s Northeast Side, police said.

According to San Antonio police, the victim told officers that he was driving westbound on Loop 410 from Interstate 35 around 7:50 p.m. when he ended up between a gray sedan and a red SUV that had traveling erratically.

The victim said the red SUV pulled up alongside his SUV in the 2400 block of Nacogdoches Road, where the driver fired a shot that went through the victim’s driver-side window, striking him, police said.

The victim was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center.

The drivers of both vehicles left the scene.
