Man in critical condition after being shot on far West Side

Officers called around 12:30 a.m. to 8600 block of Waters Edge

SAN ANTONIO – A 34-year-old man is in the hospital in critical condition following a shooting on the city’s far West Side early Thursday morning, according to San Antonio police.

Officers were called around 12:30 a.m. to the 8600 block of Waters Edge, not far from Marbach Road and Loop 410 after receiving word of shots fired.

According to police, officers arrived to find a man injured with two gunshot wounds. Police said however, they currently don’t have much to go on. The victim was unable to provide much information, besides the shooting happening in a parking lot, police said.

Investigators say they may be looking for a Chevy Impala that fled shortly after the shots were fired.

So far, a motive for the shooting is not currently known.

The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all answered the call.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
