SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police and Crime Stoppers are searching for car burglars accused of shooting a man who caught them in the act earlier this month on the North Side.
Police said a man noticed someone breaking into a car outside his neighbor’s home in the 1100 block of Sugar Pine Street, near Bitters and Blanco roads, on Aug. 11.
The man yelled at two suspected car burglars and they opened fire, striking the man in his side. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A Crime Stoppers report states the burglars drove off in a light-colored, small vehicle.
Crime Stoppers released surveillance photos of one of the people they believe is responsible for the shooting, and they are asking anyone with information about them to contact authorities.
Crime Stoppers is willing to pay up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.
Tips can be made by calling Crime Stoppers at 210-224-STOP, texting “Tip 127 plus your tip” to CRIMES (274637), or using the P3 Tips app. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
