Lightscape returns to San Antonio Botanical Garden with new installations, discounted nights

For the first time, value nights are scheduled on select days in November and December

SAN ANTONIO – Lightscape has revealed five new installations and discounted nights that fans can look forward to when the event returns to the San Antonio Botanical Garden this holiday season.

Lightscape will celebrate its third year at the 38-acre garden starting on Nov. 17 and will run on select dates through Jan. 1.

Fan favorites like the winter cathedral and illuminated bluebonnets will return for 2023, along with new installations that include:

  • Pixel Tree by ArtAV is a 40-foot-high tree with thousands of LED lights.
  • Star Show by ArtAV consists of 12 16-foot stars throughout the garden.
  • Spark Ballet by Pitaya involves flickering lanterns that “appear to dance as they hang amongst the trees and along the pathway,” a news release states.
  • Heart Arch Walk by ArtAV is a tunnel of 13-foot LED hearts that people can walk under.
  • Floraison by Pitaya is a field of hundreds of brightly lit red poppy flowers.

A news release adds that a 25-foot dragon from the Imaginary Worlds: Once Upon A Time exhibit at the San Antonio Botanical Garden will remain for Lightscape.

Also, for the first time, Lightscape will host six value nights when adult tickets will be priced at $18 and kids tickets will be priced at $10 if purchased in advance and online.

The value nights are scheduled for:

  • Thursday, Nov. 30
  • Thursday, Dec. 7
  • Wednesday, Dec. 13
  • Thursday, Dec. 14
  • Monday, Dec. 18
  • Tuesday, Dec. 19

Costs for general admission on other days vary depending on the date and time. Regular adult tickets are between $24 and $28, and kids tickets are between $15 and $18.
