Service will be offered daily and year-round.

“This is fantastic news for San Antonio,” Jesus Saenz, director of airports for the San Antonio Airport System, said in a news release. “We have more options than ever before to take trips to fun and attractive locations – such as the Los Angeles region. Burbank is the closest LA-area airport to most of the region’s popular tourist destinations like Universal Studios Hollywood.”

This is San Antonio International Airport’s 45th nonstop destination.

Southwest, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and Spirit Airlines also offer service to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

The airport added that Southwest will increase service from San Antonio to Baltimore, Orlando and Phoenix. Daily service to Cancun and weekend service to Albuquerque will return next summer.
