SAN ANTONIO – H-E-B has added to its foothold in Southtown.
The San Antonio-based grocery giant recently acquired an office and retail property at 714 S. Santa Rosa Ave., according to Bexar County records. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the property was most recently assessed at about $3.5 million, Bexar Appraisal District figures indicate.
The company bought the property from local development firm Hixon Properties. H-E-B’s corporate headquarters sits minutes away at 646 S. Flores St. Hixon picked up the property from an affiliated entity of local counterpart AREA Real Estate in 2016.
Hixon is ever-active in the downtown area, having opened the Make Ready Market food hall last fall, filling up its The Soto office building and planning new multifamily and retail projects in the River North neighborhood.
