San Antonio mourns the loss of Holocaust survivor Rose Williams

Rose Williams was a prominent voice in Holocaust education

SAN ANTONIO – One of the city’s last remaining Holocaust survivors, Rose Williams, has died.

Williams was 12 years old when she witnessed the murder of several family members in Poland and was forcibly taken to the Auschwitz concentration camp during World War II.

After being liberated, Williams eventually settled in San Antonio, where she raised her family and became a prominent voice in Holocaust education.

Throughout her life, Williams shared her experiences to raise awareness of the atrocities committed during the Holocaust.

Williams' death marks a significant loss for the San Antonio community.
