SAN ANTONIO – Shortly after they enter the world, some newborns in San Antonio could be subject to a stay in a neonatal intensive care unit.
Nurses at University Health Women’s and Children’s Hospital have found a unique method that can calm newborns down, increase their chances of healing faster and perhaps shorten their hospital stays: scent cloths.
KSAT Photojournalist Adam Barraza spoke with a family who described the cloths’ potential benefits.
Adam Barraza is a photojournalist at KSAT 12 and an El Paso native. He interned at KVIA, the local ABC affiliate, while still in high school. He then moved to San Antonio and, after earning a degree from San Antonio College and the University of the Incarnate Word, started working in news. He’s also a diehard Dodgers fan and an avid sneakerhead.
