SAN ANTONIO – Northside Independent School District is investigating after 11 middle school students “reported feeling unwell or became ill” after drinking expired milk, a district spokesperson said Wednesday.
The milk was served at Vale Middle School, the spokesperson said, where “a portion” of the milk supply was past its expiration date.

The district’s milk provider is Oak Farms Dairy. The spokesperson said the district believes the expired milk only affected Vale Middle School.
The campus nurse evaluated the students Wednesday, the spokesperson said, and the 11 students were the only reported illnesses.
NISD’s Child Nutrition Department launched an investigation into the issue and is making a report to the Health Department “in accordance with protocols,” the spokesperson said.
