DPS said the driver evaded through various parts of the city before crashing through a gate off Jones Maltsberger Road and into the airport runway.
The collision disabled the vehicle. DPS said the driver, identified as a 25-year-old man, was arrested without incident. Troopers also located a firearm in the vehicle.
The man was arrested for evading arrest in a motor vehicle and unlawful carrying of a weapon, according to DPS.
