HOUSTON – Camp Mystic proposed selling its land and “substantially all of its assets” in a newly filed bankruptcy plan.
The camp is in ongoing Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, and the reorganization plan filed Friday includes auctioning its nearly 750 acres of land.
In the plan, Camp Mystic expressed a preference for the person who buys the camp to maintain its “historic mission.”
The camp said it expects a self-organized group of Camp Mystic families and alumni to submit a bid in the auction for its assets.
Anyone who purchases the camp site and wants to operate it as such would be required to obtain a new license from the Texas Department of State Health Services.
The plan must still be approved by a bankruptcy court judge.
