MESQUITE, Texas – A 60-year-old day care operator is facing nine counts of endangering a child after a complaint regarding how she handled the infants and toddlers left in her care led police to execute a search warrant her home on Friday.
Records show Rebecca Anderson owned and operated a child care facility in her home in the 4300 block of Tamarix Court.

According to the Mesquite News, the Mesquite Police Department and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services went to Anderson's home with a search warrant and shut down the day care.
The newspaper reported investigators found evidence the children might have been given "unnecessary doses of over-the-counter medicine," subject to "extended periods of restricted movement and poor hygiene practices."
An arrest warrant affidavit alleges that Anderson kept the small children tied up in car seats for at least seven hours a day at her Mesquite, Texas, day care center, Becky’s Home Child Care.
The affidavit also said she yanked a 6-month-old child by the bib around his neck, tying laces around the young children’s necks to limit their movement and giving them acetaminophen to quiet them.
When investigators arrived at Anderson's home, nine children were in her care and were subsequently returned to their parents, the report said.
The children were taken to the Children’s Hospital in Dallas for evaluation.
She’s booked Sunday night into the Dallas County jail in lieu of bonds totaling $45,000. Jail records list no attorney for her.
Online records show Anderson's home was last inspected by TxDFPS in 2016. One deficiency related to an escape plan was cited in the inspection report.
