Ingredients:
- 1 pkg - Central Market natural Hickory smoked bacon, chopped small
- 1 pkg - Central Market Trecce pasta
- 2 tbsp. - Fresh garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup - Red onion, minced
- 2 tbsp. - Sherry vinegar
- 2 tbsp. - Reserved bacon fat
- 2 tbsp. - Wondra flour
- 1 cup - Sour cream
- 2 cups - Water
- 1 cup - Gruyere cheese, shredded
- 1 cup - Muenster cheese, shredded
- 1 pkg. - Slider buns
Instructions:
In a large pot filled with boiling salted water, cook pasta to package instructions then drain and set aside.
In a large nonstick skillet cook the bacon slices until they are crispy then remove them to drain on a paper towel. Reserve 2 tbsp. of the bacon fat and place the pan on medium heat.
Add the garlic and onions and cook until just tan, then add the wondra flour and whisk to keep it from burning in the pan cook for about 2 min then add the sherry wine vinegar and cook for 1 min before adding in the sour cream and water, whisk vigorously for a few minutes until mixture thickens.
Then add the cheeses, lower the heat and whisk until you have a creamy cheese sauce, add in the cooked bacon and pasta toss to coat with the cheese. Season with salt and pepper and load onto a slider bun top with your favorite sandwich fixings.
