SAN ANTONIO – Boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya, 43, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence early Wednesday morning, according to a report by TMZ.com.
Officers with the California Highway Patrol arrested De La Hoya at 1:57 a.m in Pasadena, the report said.

ESPN.com obtained a copy of the incident report which said an officer pulled over De La Hoya’s vehicle after he spotted a Land Rover that was seen speeding with mechanical violations.
The report went on to say the officer “detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the driver's breath and person.”
De La Hoya failed a series of sobriety tests and was arrested. According to the report, De La Hoya was cited and later released.
De La Hoya has a history of alcohol and drug problems. In May 2011, he acknowledged he had a problem and underwent treatment at the Betty Ford Center for his alcoholism.
Two years later, De La Hoya announced he was returning to a treatment facility.
Despite his setbacks, De La Hoya has been a successful businessman in his post-fight career.
He founded Golden Boy Promotions in 2002, and the firm has grown into one of the top promotions companies in the sport.
ESPN reached out to a spokesperson with Golden Boy Promotions who declined to comment on De La Hoya’s arrest.
