Hunter King

Reporter

Hunter King is a reporter at KSAT 12 in San Antonio, where he covers breaking news, local
government and community stories across South Texas. A Texas native from Houston, King
joined KSAT in July 2026 after two years as a multi-skilled journalist at 13WMAZ in Central
Georgia.

At 13WMAZ, King built a reputation for reporting on high-stakes local issues. He covered
Georgia’s role as a swing state during the 2024 presidential election, reporting from polling
places, campaign events, and county election offices as Central Georgia voters helped shape
national outcomes. During Hurricane Helene, he filed live updates from hard-hit communities,
explaining emergency response efforts, road closures and recovery resources for residents
across the region.

King also tracked the rapid growth of data centers in Middle Georgia, including contentious local
debates over non-disclosure agreements, tax incentives and infrastructure impacts as major
tech companies sought to expand in the state. His reporting brought together city officials,
economic developers, and community members to explain how these projects could reshape
jobs, power grids and land use.

King graduated from Sam Houston State University’s Dan Rather School of Communication with
a degree in Broadcast Journalism. While in college, he anchored and reported for Bearkat
Student Media News and interned at KSAT’s sister station, KPRC 2, in Houston.
In San Antonio, King is focused on telling the stories that matter most to South Texas families—
from city hall and the Legislature to the neighborhoods and businesses that define the Alamo
City.
