ESPN is undergoing a significant round of layoffs for the first time in three years after taking over NFL Network in April.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is set to sign the richest deal in U.S. professional sports history, according to multiple reports. ESPNs Adam Schefter reported Mahomes agreed to a 10-year extension with Kansas City that is worth $450 million. The previous richest contract in U.S. professional sports history was Mike Trouts $426.5 million deal with the Los Angeles Angels of Major League Baseball.

ARLINGTON After months of negotiations and declined offers, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott intends to sign the franchise tag worth $31.4 million on Monday. By signing the tag, Prescott must report to training camp on time with or without a long-term deal finalized. The Cowboys now have until July 15 to work out a longer deal with Prescott. This past year, Prescott had arguably his most impressive statistical season with Big D, completing 388 passes for 4,902 yards and 30 touchdowns. In spite of that production, Prescott finished 8-8 as a starter and Dallas missed the playoffs.
