Forbes recently released its list of the 400 richest people in the United States, and it includes more than 40 people with Texas ties.

Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings and former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg made the largest contributions in 2024, and financial aid, especially for medical students, got most of the money.

H-E-B’s Charles Butt and Eleanor Butt Crook, Dallas Cowboys’ Jerry Jones, and Walmart’s Alice Walton were all listed among the Texas billionaires in Forbes 400 list.

According to Forbes, the planet’s 2,640 billionaires are worth $12.2 trillion. The 735 American citizens on the list are worth an estimated $4.5 trillion and seven of the top ten wealthiest people on the planet are Americans.
