TPWD officials respond to a call of a bear on the roof of a West Texas home
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department officials recently responded to a call about a black bear found on a roof of a house in West Texas, according to a Facebook post from the department. The bear sighting occurred on Oct. 11 at a residence in Sanderson, which is about 95 miles east of Big Bend National Park. Chase McCrory, TPWD biologist, took photos of the black bear and shared it on Texas Parks and Wildlife-Trans-Pecos Wildlife District's Facebook page last week.

For the first time in almost three months, the Saint Louis Zoo opened its doors to visitors Saturday morning. Reservations for a specific date become available seven days beforehand. Tickets will have a specific time and date on them for visitors to explore the zoo. As long as you arrive within your reserved time slot, you can stay as long as you like. One big change to note: the zoo is no longer accepting cash.
